The original settlement  Pharos  was 384 BC Chr. From  Greek colonists  founded after the resistance of the old residents  Illyrians  had broken.  Mosaics  under the pavement testify to times gone by. Stari Grad has appeared under the name since 1205  Civitas Vetus. In the 16th century the poet established  Petar Hektorović  a villa still preserved today.

The neighborhood is surrounded by cafes and restaurants as well as bakeries for fresh croissants and bread. The old town is a Unesco World Heritage Site, characterized by narrow winding streets with historical  Flair.

The sea is close and the fruit and vegetable market is in the immediate vicinity. Grocery stores and a butcher shop are also very close by.
